Final Day – Bass, Pickerel & Crappie Contest

Final day of the Bass, Pickerel and Crappie Fly Fishing Contest – new for 2026 in that the two contests (spring and fall) are now one. This members-only catch and release contest will run from Tuesday Oct. 20th through Saturday the 24th. Each contestant may fish 2 days; a weekday of their choice, but the second day must be Saturday. Fishing must be done between 8 AM and 2 PM (any day). There will be two categories – Boat (includes kayaks) and Shore, in teams of two. All fishing must be done in Kent and/or Sussex County DNREC ponds (see the website for a list) and their spillways in accordance with DE state regulations. All fish entered must have a digital photo to confirm date and time of the catch – tally sheets will be supplied to each team to record species and sizes. We will gather at 3 PM at a venue TBA for a late lunch to announce the winners.
