Saltwater fly anglers of delaware
The Saltwater Fly Anglers of Delaware was founded by Don Avondolio in the year 2000. Don’s dedication to fly fishing brought him to assemble this club, in order to bring interested saltwater fly anglers together to promote the sport, to gain and share knowledge of the sport, to freely exchange information between saltwater fly anglers and importantly, to have fun while doing it! Although our foundations are in saltwater fly fishing, we also support and share knowledge about freshwater fly fishing as well.
What we do
The SFAOD monthly club meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month except January (in lieu of our annual holiday dinner) and May (in lieu of our annual spring picnic).
Best fishing spots
Our members have knowledge of all the best fishing spots in and around our area.
fly tying
Starting in early January and ending the last Saturday in March, we have Saturday morning fly tying get-togethers. Our current venue for that is the Lewes Presbyterian Church Hall. All members and their guests are welcome! If you attend and are looking to learn how to tie, tell someone that you are looking to do so and somebody will get you started. Extra vises will be available along with tools, hooks and tying materials.
regular outings
Our members enjoy regular fly fishing outings throughout the seasons; join today to get started.
