Don's Peanut Bunker
Don's Peanut Bunker
This Peanut Bunker pattern can be tied using different hook lengths and sizes.

Materials:

  • Hook: #1/0 Mustad or equivalent
  • Thread: White size A
  • Body: White Seafibers and Litebright (pearl)
  • Eyes: 3D
  • Head: Whip finish and adhesive
Steps:
  1. Wind thread around a small tuft of Seafibers (about 3/16"DIA) at top of hook bend. Fibers should extend about 2" toward rear.
  2. Continue to wind Seafibers (HI-TY style) tufts on top of shank towards eye. Seafibers are tied on top of shank and then doubled over and knotted. Slightly increase diameter of tuft from center towards eye. Add Litebright between every other tuft of Seafibers. When hook eye is reached, whip finish head and use adhesive on head and bottom of hook shank.
  3. Using a soft toothbrush, comb out fibers on each side to a uniform density. Then cut the body shape into an oval as shown.
  4. Add 3D eyes and mark back and gills using permanant marking pens. Back color should be brown and gill markings should be red.
